CompEx Recognised Practitioners Programme (Ex01R – Ex04R) - CompEx Refresher
CompEx EX01-04 Certification is only valid for five years from issue. To re-validate your certification for another five years, you must undertake the RPP refresher qualification within the initial five-year period. Persons whose certificate(s) is no longer current i.e. outside of 5 years must complete their chosen course units through CompEx Refresher Course.
Attendees
People who hold a current and valid CompEx Ex01-Ex04 Certificate can attend the shorter RPP refresher course and re-validate. However, if you have not been actively involved in Ex work (inspection, maintenance and installation) then we highly recommend retaking the 5 day EX01- Ex04 course.

CompEx RPP Refresher Exams The refresher exams consist of A new installation section test (selection board including motors) Make off two glands (practically assessed) Ex inspection on real equipment Full 90 minute 60 question on line exam

Key learning objectives
Candidates that successfully complete the CompEx Foundation qualification will be able to:
- Identify the correct national regulations, directives, and IEC standards which relate to hazardous areas.
- Demonstrate a basic knowledge of the main protection concepts, categories and protection levels that apply to equipment certified for use in hazardous areas.
- Recognise the elements that make up a hazardous atmosphere and the precautions required.
- Identify the correct descriptors used for criteria that classify a hazardous gas, vapour or dust location.
